Saint Vincent Archabbey

"Your way of acting should be different from the world's way; the love of Christ must come before all else." -- The Rule of Saint Benedict 4:20-21

The Benedictine community of Saint Vincent seeks God in all that it does -- not only in prayer but also in work -- living in awareness of the blessings it receives from the Church and the larger community.

The Benedictine monks strive to create a more human world -- one of goodness, truth, beauty and peace. In such striving the monks seek to advance God's creative work through educational endeavors, pastoral care and missionary activities.

Saint Vincent is firmly established as Archabbey, College, Seminary and Parish and has become a global community extending far beyond Latrobe, Pennsylvania. Saint Vincent Benedictines support the activities of their missions in Brazil and Taiwan. In addition to these activities, they also staff 26 parishes; operate the Benedictine Military School in Savannah, Georgia; are responsible for campus ministry at the Catholic Center of Pennsylvania State University; and staff chaplaincies in hospitals, convents, prisons and military bases.
