Emma jumped off the school bus and rushed up the driveway with her little sister. She was excited to tell her parents about her science assignment. Mrs. Bell gave the class homework to visit the wetlands at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe. She gave them a worksheet that told about the project—a scavenger hunt. The worksheet gave one clue to get the students started. After that, they had to find the other clues, which were hidden in the wetlands. Mrs. Bell said it would be an adventure! Emma told her mother and father all about it before dinner.
The next day was sunny and warm. At dinner, Emma’s father, Mr. O’Brien, announced that it would be a good evening to work on Emma’s science assignment. Emma couldn’t wait to get started! After dinner, Emma and her father headed off to Saint Vincent College.
When they got to the wetlands, Mr. O’Brien said, “Well, we are here. Look at your paper and read me the first clue.”
