Retreat Description: Prayer can sometimes seem abstract, cerebral, full of distractions and difficult. This can lead to frustration when there is a longing to go deeper. Yet, there are ways to engage in prayer that help to stay focused and to supports a personal encounter with the Lord and his love. This retreat introduces different experiences of prayer to foster this encounter and experience God’s love and grow in a personal relationship. Journeying alongside other women enriches the experience learning all the ways that God communicates, touches hearts, and accompanies each person.
Retreat Master: Mimika Garesché’s track record of helping others achieve spiritual breakthroughs and the realization of new potential makes her a sought-after spiritual guide. She is a retreat designer and leader, speaker, and professional coach. She founded On Fire a discipleship journey which helps people grow in their personal relationship with God through exploring prayer and discernment in a community setting. She has worked in leadership development and spiritual formation for many years. She holds a certificate in Spiritual Direction and Directed Retreats and an MA in Christian Spirituality from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Education and Development from the Anahuac University in Mexico..

Fee: $200 per person.

Other Information: To help make your retreat prayerful, we suggest that you bring a Bible. The retreat office has copies of the New American Bible. The Basilica Gift Shop, located on the first floor of the Parish Center adjoining the Basilica, stocks spiritual books and other religious items. Rooms are air conditioned or equipped with a ceiling fan. Linens and towels are provided. Recreational opportunities include the Saint Vincent Fitness Trail and the Winnie Palmer Nature Reserve.
