The Rose Window Christmas ornament is one in a series of ornaments featuring aspects of the Saint Vincent Archabbey Basilica and its environs. From the stained glass windows inside, to the crucifix above the altar, the facade of the church, and even the Boniface Wimmer statue that guards the entrance to the church, these metal ornaments are produced by Beacon Design of Rhode Island for Saint Vincent Archabbey.
The 2019 ornament features the rose window above the front doors of the Saint Vincent Basilica, executed by the Kinsella Company of Chicago.
Rose windows are seen in many churches of both Gothic and Romanesque architecture and generally feature complex designs, which bear similarity to a multi-petalled rose.
For collectors, this is the 24th in the series of ornaments.
